The U3A (University of the 3rd Age) is committed to real lifelong learning by groups of older people sharing their knowledge and experience. The topics covered by each group may be either of a recreational or more serious nature - or even just for fun.
U3A describes the 'first age' as the early years of personal education and development, followed by the 'second age' of maturity and responsibilities. The 'third age' comes after full-time employment or on retirement when there is time to do other things. If anyone is interested in helping to start this new group in the Shipston area or would like more information, would they contact myself (on 01608 662603) or Ann Grosvenor (on 01608 663190) so that the level of interest can be assessed to see whether or not it would be viable.
George Houghton, U3A.
