Redditch VC Women 1
Worcester City Ladies Res 0
REDDITCH stretched their unbeaten run to six games with this victory, but had keeper Nicole Metje to thank as she made crucial saves to protect VC's slender lead.
From the start City forced the home side into a number of basic mistakes, with VC's passing not up to their usual standard.
On the few occasions in the first half when VC went forward, they looked dangerous and from one of these they scored the crucial goal. Nat Lawrence got away from her marker and split the defence open with the perfect pass for Jenna Dedicoat, who fired in off the post.
Moments later, another through-ball could have secured a second VC goal but, as the keeper advanced, Emily Johnson could only steer her shot wide.
The first of Metje's excellent saves came just before the break when she narrowed the angle superbly and made an important block.
The second half continued in the same fashion, with Worcester pressing for an equaliser only to be denied by Metje.
Studley 0 Ross Town 4
STUDLEY started positively, but needed keeper Amy Staniland to produce some good saves. Ross eventually opened up a 3-0 lead at the break and although Coral Loney went close for the home side, Studley's failure to convert chances was punished when Ross added a fourth on the break.
