KIDDERMINSTER Harriers Ladies did well to hold on for three West Midlands League points on Sunday against a strong Fairfield team.
Harriers got off to a great start when Emma Bowdler scored from 35 yards on just six minutes.
They doubled their lead three minutes later when Julie Freeman fired in a low hard shot from 16 yards into the bottom left-hand corner.
But a well-worked goal pulled Fairfield back into the game on 38 minutes and they enjoyed most of the play in the second half.
Only great saves from player-of-the-match Rachel Baldwin kept them out along with a goal-line clearance from Bowdler five minutes from time.
Fixture, Sunday: Harriers v Banbury (2pm, Wilden Village Cricket Club).
Squad: Baldwin, Jones, Stokes, Pollard, Haswell, Dunnett, Haigh, Freeman, Rogers, Hyde, Roberts, Bowdler, Fowler, Evans.
