I WOULD like to address this letter to those dog owners who walk their dogs on the path through the wood next to the entrance to the Westwood Allotments.
These people appear to have no consideration for other walkers and allow their dogs to foul the area right beside the gate where, due to the narrow path, it is difficult to avoid the resulting mess.
I am an animal lover and have owned dogs and I know that they will toilet where they will, however it is up to the owner to be responsible and show consideration for other walkers, particularly on paths and walking tracks.
These people take their dogs out so that they do not foul their own gardens, why do they imagine that anyone else wants to walk in dog mess?
I am particularly annoyed because on one occasion there were no less than three piles of dog faeces right at the gate, very difficult to step around on a narrow path. There is nothing stopping the dog owner from at the very least getting a stick and pushing the mess off the path.
There are plenty of responsible owners about but unfortunately some people don't fall into that category.
Those people whose dogs are using the gateway as a toilet will know who they are, how about a New Year's resolution to keep the pathway clean?
