FORMER Worcestershire and England paceman Phil Newport is to play for Kidder-minster this season.
The 38-year-old, who retired from first-class cricket in 1999, will turn out for the Birmingham League club in the second half of the summer after his teaching commitments at the Royal Grammar School Worcester have finished.
Kidderminster captain Mark Mansell said: "I know he didn't play at all last year but he is not the sort of player to do things half-heartedly. He will get himself fit to do a job for us."
