JUST two months on from their fifth birthday celebrations, Music Maker was once again performing a selection of its favourites in another stunning programme of events.

All age groups joined in, some of whom would barely have been born when Music Maker first started.

Nevertheless these youngsters don't seem to bat an eyelid at going on stage to perform live as their enthusiasm remains unwavering.

Beginning with Circle of Life from the Lion King, the solo introduction by

Sam Barnes illustrated how the confidence of these youngsters has matured. Along with some other old favourites such as Dreamer, Tiger Feet and Gee Officer Krupkee the programme progressed at quite a lick!

However, I think I can safely say the highlight of the evening was a most spine tingling rendition of the Muse number Butterflies & Hurricanes, performed for the first time by Sam Barnes on drums and Dale Pearce on piano, accompanied by a group of vocalists.

Not the easiest to perform, Dale played the Rachmaninov-style piano solo that quite simply took your breath away - not bad for a 16-year-old.

I wonder what another five years of Music Maker will produce?
