Crabbs Cross Salvation Army - A musical evening followed by a sale of work was held in the Barracks on Monday.
Mr W R John, Astwood Bank presided - in opening the meeting the chairman said he hoped the sale of work would be a success.
A capital programme was gone through, the whole of the items being well rendered.
Mrs Skinner, Crabbs Cross, opened the sale of work and wished the promoters of the sale every success.
At a special meeting of the Urban District Council held at mid-day on Tuesday, the seal of the council was affixed to a general district rate of 2s 3d in the pound for the current half year.
