SKIPPER Wayne Hatswell was left reflecting on Harriers being so close yet so far to taking two scalps of promotion chasers.
Harriers have let leads slip against Lincoln and Hull but still emerged with creditable draws to boost their points total in the race to beat relegation from Division Three.
The inspirational defender, 29, admitted: "We should have had all six points from the last two games. I thought we deserved a lot more.
"Lincoln penned us in a lot and were a nuisance. But against Hull I cannot remember any chances they have had apart from the goal.
"We haven't won either game though which is the annoying part of it.
"After the previous performance at home we had a bit of a point to prove.
"Since I have been here, we have seen a gradual improvement over the weeks. We had that blip against Macclesfield but conditions won that game.
"But if you look at the table now it shows we are still not safe. We have got a massive two games coming up over Easter. Carlisle away is going to be a huge game.
"Until we get to the 50 points the gaffer wants, we will have to keep looking over our shoulders."
Hatswell will certainly miss his fellow Swindonian Adrian Viveash who has returned to the County Ground after an impressive seven-game loan spell in the centre of defence.
He insisted: "We are going to miss Adrian immensely. He settled in straight away and the results we have had since he arrived don't lie.
"I wish he was staying because players of his quality don't come around very often.
"I just hope now he can go back to Swindon, get in their side and do well for them, which I'm sure he will."
But loan signing Simon Brown's two goals in as many games have certainly caught Hatswell's eye.
The former Oxford and Chester player added: "Simon has been a breath of fresh air for the club. He has come along and caused full-backs problems.
"Both him and Leon Clarke are very quick and come from big clubs. It's obvious they are there for a reason."
