THE Redditch branch of the Parachute Regiment Association has appealed to the Feckenham resident who 30 years ago bought a Nazi flag - brought back as a souvenir from Arnhem.
The flag was sold at auction soon after the war and local ex-paratroopers are anxious to have it back for a very special occasion which is taking place at Redditch Classic Cinema at the end of the month.
The branch wants to display the flag in the foyer of the cinema during the showing of the new film about Arnhem A Bridge Too Far.
And while the celluloid adventure reigns on the screen, down in the stalls four Redditch men will be reliving the 10 gruelling days of that very battle.
Bill Gilbert, Tony Hughes, Fred Bennet and Gally Smith were part of the massive assault made by the combined allied forces on a series of bridges inside the occupied Holland of 1944.
