STRIKER Ian Foster has returned to make sure Kidderminster Harriers do not lose the Football League status he helped to achieve.

Harriers' Conference title-winning top scorer Foster, signed for an initial month's loan from Chester, showed his intent with the first goal in the 2-0 win over Swansea.

But Foster admitted there was more than a little fortune involved in ending the club's goal drought after a comedy error from experienced keeper Roger Freestone.

The happy 27-year-old said: "It was just a gamble into the box to chase the through-ball. It's not like Roger to do that.

"He's played so many league games but I've gambled and it's gone through his legs.

"I was about to knock it in and the defender has decided to pull me down but luckily I was able to stay on my feet and knock it in.

"It would have been just my luck to have got up and missed the penalty!

"It seemed like three weeks before the ball went over the line. It was horrible. The relief was unbelievable."

And the opener gave Harriers a new lease of life as Foster added: "You could see the way we knocked it about after the goal. It just settled us down a bit.

"Jesper Christiansen has scored with a great header which didn't surprise me from what I've seen of him in training.

"I'm just glad to be at a club I love playing for. The most important thing was to win and that will hopefully help us get away from the bottom two."
