Worcester Wolves are confident of recording their second win of the new basketball season when they travel to Coventry Crusaders in the Patrons Cup tonight (7.30).

Wolves go into the first of four round-robin games on the back of a record 127-76 win at Tamar Valley in their opening National League Division Two game last week.

Player-coach Rick Solvason, who returns to his former club tonight, said: "I think we have a very good chance of winning.

"After the pre-season we have had and the first game on the road, the guys are quietly confident that as long as we play well, we can get a victory.

"We didn't know what to expect last week because Tamar Valley are a new team in the league, but I was pleasantly surprised to do as well as we did.

"We have 12-14 guys who are training hard every week and everyone seems to be working for each other," saqid Solvason.

Wolves are in a three-team group which also includes Liverpool, and the group winners will go through to the semi-finals.

Colin Rhooms, another former Coventry player, should return after suffering a shoulder injury, while summer signing Dean Blake also comes into the squad following a back problem.

Paul Gerald is the only absentee from the Worcester squad with knee trouble.

Meanwhile, Worcester Wolves' women were beaten by a single point 66-65 by East Durham in their opening National League Division Two North game last week.

Today they travel to take on Leicester (1pm).
