WORCESTERSHIRE have released unsettled paceman Alamgir Sheriyar from his contract.
Warwickshire are believed to be interested in the 26-year-old who asked to leave New Road following a disappointing season.
He had two more years left to run on his contract.
The County said today that the decision to release Sheriyar had been made "reluctantly and in the interest of both parties."
Secretary Mike Vockins said: "We are disappointed that Sheri feels he wants to move and we would have preferred him to stay and consolidate the form he has shown here in earlier seasons."
Meanwhile, Worcestershire's Vikram Solanki has been selected for the England A squad to tour the West Indies in January and February. He has also been put on standby for the Test squad on their two three-Test winter series in Pakistan and Sri Lanka and the one-day squad. The 24-year-old has yet to appear in Test cricket.
He was called into England's one-day squad in the triangular series in South Africa and Zimbabwe earlier this year, playing in eight matches and averaging 16 in seven innings.
Chosen for the triangular tournament against the West Indies and Zimbabwe this summer he was released in the latter part of it without appearing.
The County's up-and-coming batsman Kadeer Ali is included in the England Under 19 squad to tour India this winter. The tour starts on December 27 and includes three four-day international matches and three one-day internationals.
