AGGBOROUGH director of football Jan Molby branded the conditions "farcical" at Oxford on Saturday but felt Harriers more than matched their high-flying opponents in the first half.
Molby said: "If Oxford had had to go the way we went in the second half, we'd have probably been on top and might have won. But that's life.
"We played well in the first half when we had two efforts against the bar and one cleared off the line.
"In the second half we had another effort cleared off the line from a Dean Bennett shot so in terms of chances we had the better ones.
"You have to say, though, that the conditions suited the way Oxford play because they have a more direct style and they are a very big and strong side."
The Dane was not pleased with the lengthy half-time delay either which he felt disrupted his players.
Molby added: "It was a situation that was poorly dealt with in the end because there was no need for a 40-minute half-time break. It could have been dealt with a lot swifter than it was and that was a disappointment."
And Oxford boss Ian Atkins confessed: "If someone had said to me at half-time that the ref was going to call if off, I wouldn't have complained.
"I'm delighted we got three points but in those conditions the game should not be played.
"The wind was horrendous. You just don't know where it's coming from and you can't appreciate how strong it was from the side. Only when you got out in the middle could you tell."
