PEACE campaigners Bruce Kent and Dr Rebecca Johnson presented powerful arguments against nuclear weapons when they spoke at a public meeting in Malvern.
Dr Johnson is executive director of the Acronym Institute for Disarmament Diplomacy and a leading authority on international treaties and nuclear diplomacy, while Mr Kent is chairman of the Movement for the Abolition of War and vice president of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament.
Their theme was the non-replacement of Britain's Trident nuclear weapons at the end of the system's life in 2025. A decision on whether to replace the programme has to be taken during the life of the present Parliament.
Organised by Malvern Churches Justice and Peace Group and chaired by the Bishop of Worcester, the Rt Rev Dr Peter Selby, the meeting was held in Great Malvern on Saturday. afternoon.
