UNIVERSITY College Worcester's basketball team jet out to Poland tomorrow in a bid to be crowned European champions.
The team, representing Great Britain, will be one of 12 university teams in action in Gorzow next week as the continent's top students go head-to-head.
Teams are set to be split into three pools of four although the draw does not takes place until the Henwick Road side touch down in Eastern Europe. The top two from each pool qualify for the last eight.
UCW earned the right to be British entrants by winning the British University Sports Association crown for the first time.
They defeated Plymouth-based St Mark's and St John's 95-87 in March.
Despite the likes of Ty Shaw being unavailable through his Australian commitments, coach Josh Cooprider is confident his side can learn from their time in Poland.
He said: "We are not taking our full team but we are going to use it as an experience to see where we are with other countries in Europe.
"It's a reward for the team. It's our first time going and we are going to see how things go."
