BROMSGROVE Rovers manager Rod Brown is desperately trying to bring in a striker to solve his side's problems in front of goal.
Brown says he is happy with his side's defence and midfield, but the lack of fire-power continues to undermine the work he is doing at the Victoria Ground club.
Brown has been scouring the leagues for 'a striker or two' and was set to discuss terms with Oldbury United front-man Luke Reynolds last night.
The manager also spoke with his Nuneaton Borough counterpart Roger Ashby last night about loaning a striker from Manor Park.
Brown was hopeful a deal could be done with Nuneaton for an unnamed forward, but it hinged on whether Ashby could bring in a striker of his own first.
Rovers, who have only scored three goals in their last five games, face a tough test tonight when they travel to second-placed Ashford Town (7.45).
Brown said: "All of our games are difficult at the moment. We have had a run of fixtures against some of the league's top sides.
"We look like a side who are solid and won't concede goals, but we desperately need a forward to score a few goals."
Brown has no fresh injury concerns and is set to field the same side that drew 0-0 at Marlow on Saturday.
Neil Davis (calf) and Steve Hillman ('flu) remain the only absentees.
n Former Rovers forward Ben Porter has re-signed for Rushall Olympic.
