WITH the design for the centre in place, we are now looking for a building firm to grasp the nettle and turn the dream into reality for thousands of Scouts.
The plan for a single-storey modern building to replace the burned out nissen hut at Rhydd Covert was given planning permission this month, paving the way for work to begin.
Firms are now being invited to put forward a bid to build the replacement Scout activity centre at the campsite, in Kidderminster Road, Bewdley.
The centre design has a floor space of 149 sq m and comprises a hall space, training rooms, kitchen, toilets, store room and warden's office.
Centre designer, Grace Plant, said: "This development will be a JCT small works contract development and offers companies the chance to help put something back into the community."
Interested parties should forward contact details to Mark Woodward, Rhydd Covert site warden, 88 Tennyson Way, Kidderminster, Worcestershire DY10 3YQ.
