CHASE pupil Caroline Walker has won the Worcestershire U17 badminton title after championships held at Droitwich High School.
Caroline, a previous winner of the U15s title, made it a twin success at the event by taking the honours in the doubles, with Rose Pennell.
Around 50 young players from around the county competed at the event, with a high level of enthusiasm and talent which is testament to the improving standard of badminton being played locally.
The boys' title went to Rob Bowater, who also won the double's title with Sam Roberts.
Soon a team of five boys and five girls will be selected to represent Worcestershire in the Inter-County Trophy at Nottingham.
This is a four-day event in April at which approximately 40 counties, including the Isle of Man and Guernsey, will compete for the title of Inter-County Champion.
