THE finalists in the Peter Harrold Competition are now known, a win for Nomads over Manor Park Allsorts booking them a tie with Maulers in April.

In league division three, Crackpots B are five points clear at the top of the table.

Maulers and Nomads are joint second after their encounter, Maulers winning and now holding a game in hand and a better 'sets won' average.

Over their two matches, Don James, Bill Smith and Ray Davies each won four sets for Maulers and Geoff Davies, Tony Hughes and Kevin Howard each won two for Nomads.

Crackpots have had three point wins over Poolbrook Lieutenants and X-Police, Ted Cates and Stan Ginn each winning four sets and Alan Forsdike three.

Alasdair Maxwell-Stewart won three for Poolbrook and the doubles with Tom James whilst Malcolm Dalley won all his sets and Steve Mulka one for X-Police.

Abbeydowne gained seven points from their two recent matches, with Bill Lucas winning all his sets and being a part of both the successful doubles. Roy Holland had five wins and Peter Denniss four.

Allsorts moved up a place with a three point win against Dynamos and one against Abbeydowne. Alex Lindner won all three against Dynamos and was supported by James Mulka with two and Lizzy Gorton with one. Bill Nelson was the only winner against Abbeydowne.

Collette James saved the whitewash for Dynamos against Abbeydowne and won two against Allsorts, when Charlie Burford also won a set. Four of the sets went to five games and another three to four games.
