HANLEY Swan indoor rower Anna Bailey made a successful return to action after injury and met one of the truly great Olympians.

Anna was part of the contingent from the Old Wrecks club taking part in the English Indoor Rowing Championships at the Manchester Velodrome on Sunday.

It was her first outing since breaking her wrist in a fall after the British Championships ten weeks ago.

Despite a strapped-up wrist, Anna won the Women's 50+ race in 7:31.3, setting a new world record in the 55-59 age group in the process.

At the event, she met multi-Olympic gold medallist Sir Steve Redgrave, who was there filming for a forthcoming documentary called Redgrave's Liverpool Eight.
