SIR - As patron of Help the Aged Living Legends awards ceremony, I am delighted to support such a worthwhile awards scheme and I urge readers from the West Midlands to put forward nominations to name their very own living legend.
Help the Aged Living Legends, in association with BT, is an annual event that celebrates ordinary people who have done extraordinary things to become legends in everyday life.
The Living Legend stars representing the West Midlands will be invited to Windsor Castle on May 3, 2006, at the invitation of The Queen, who will attend the event.
Please help us in our search for living legends by nominating someone who has made a difference to your life or community. Nominate them now and show your appreciation for someone special who is an inspiration to us all. Categories include Local Hero, Achievement in Sport, Campaigner of the Year and Business for Age, Research into Ageing and Helping Unite Generations (Hug), which is an intergenerational schools award.
Alternatively call the awards hotline 0207239 1922 to obtain a form.
CHERIE BOOTH,
Patron of Living Legends
Help the Aged.
