SIR - I am writing with regard to the recent article that stated that the southbound carriageway was going to be reduced to a single lane.
This must be a retrograde step, and would ask the authorities to look at other ways , for example, reducing the speed limit to 60mph, placing of crash barriers, warning signs, placing a non-skid surface first, before making such a drastic alteration. Is it possible that we, the public, could be considered, before the decision is taken?
ANTONY WATT,
