SIR - I was recently admitted to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for surgery, which required a stay of some 12 days for recuperation. Before I was admitted, I must admit I had my concerns due to the large amount of negative coverage that the hospital has received in your paper of late.
However, having returned home, I feel I must report that the standard of care, cleanliness and sheer professionalism I experienced are nothing less than outstanding. True, the food isn't cordon bleu, and the car parking situation is, to say the least, frustrating. But the staff are wonderful and I felt I was in very good hands during my stay.
Obviously, I can only comment on my limited experience, but I feel it only right and proper to give credit where credit is surely due.
I must thank all the staff at Worcestershire Royal for making my stay as pleasant and comfortable as they could.
MRS CONSTANCE SPIRES,
Malvern.
