MALVERN Angels put a frustrating month of scratched fixtures and no games behind them to comprehensively win a tie where they once would have been underdogs.
BERRY HILL 5PTS, MALVERN ANGELS 37PTS
Berry Hill were unable to field a full 15, so Angels pared down and played eleven-a-side.
Coach Pete Williams wanted the Angels to use some of their training moves and gain fluidity in areas they have been working on during their enforced break.
The forwards dominated the scrum and set-play and the line-out was the most successful it has been all season.
Hooker Rachel Brannelly got her eye in from the first and there were sure hands from Ali Douglas and Mel Dawson.
Three tries came from centre Babs Madsen, two from Layni Madsen, one from captain Deb Danby, plus a conversion, and a brilliant second try of the season from prop Claire Labrano.
Players-of-the-match were scrum-half Caroline Hardy and prop Lynsey Secomb
Angels' next league fixture is on Sunday, February 5 at Spring Lane. Opponents are Eccleshall and kick-off is 2.15pm.
