A SHORTAGE of players led to Warley fielding a team with a number of U-13s and they made it count with an early converted try.

WARLEY U12s 7PTS, MALVERN VIPERS 42PTS

The Vipers were somewhat overawed by the size of their opponents. It took them time to settle into their normal quick handling game but when they did, they showed that the improvements of recent weeks could be taken further.

The Vipers scored seven unanswered tries through Nat Wallis, Rees Williams (2), Mark Ziegler, Eric Carlen, Alex Swan and Josh Loader, his first.

Loader, the captain, led an outstanding pack of forwards, who rucked and mauled time and time again and produced quality ball.

Mark Ziegler held the team together in the first ten minutes, tackling everything that moved and also scoring a try.

Alex Swan once again had a 100 per cent success rate with his kicking.

Eric Carlen and Nat Wallis have both adapted their individual running games to bring in and support other players while Joe Pantling, at scrum-half, kept going despite the attentions of the physical Warley scrum-half.

Next week, the Vipers will be away to Ledbury.
