REVENGE was sweet for Rangers, 4-1 losers in the corresponding fixture in November.
MALVERN RANGERS 3, CRESSWELL WANDERERS 1
The signs were not good in the first-half with the visitors dominating. Rangers did have the ball in the net on 17 minutes but Lee Watts' effort was ruled offside.
Cresswell took the lead after 24 minutes, Antony Pennwright scoring from the edge of the box after Rangers failed to clear.
The defence then stood up well to the Cresswell test until the break.
Two minutes into the second-half and Rangers were level. Rob Cullen attacked down the right, crossed into the middle and Danny White was on hand to head home his first goal of the season.
Rangers had to reorganise shortly afterwards, losing Andy Fletcher to a back injury and bringing on Craig Penney.
After 22 minutes, an excellent lay-off by Watts saw captain Neil Bond hit a tremendous shot from distance which keeper Ian Gough touched in off the post.
Two minutes later and it was 3-1. Simon Rea played the ball forward to man-of-the-match Bond. From just inside the visitors' half, he struck it goalwards. It bounced over Gough's head and Cullen added a touch to be sure it crossed the line.
