Malvern Town Wanderers U13s 1, Newtown Sports Juniors U13s 2
Juniors' early chances went begging but Wanderers scored with their first meaningful attack of the match.
Hughes' fierce half-volley from inside the area was enough to divide the teams, who tried their best to play in conditions that stifled creativity.
In response, Newtown, driven by Roskams, applied pressure and were rewarded when Watling went on one of his dribbles, beating several players before smashing home.
Newtown then took the lead when a precision Roskams' pass found Rock, who slid the ball home. Although Juniors pressed, they failed to convert possession and territorial advantage.
The second-half saw the match revolving around midfield, with neither side giving ground. Both defences were solid, with Kyte and Parker outstanding for Juniors, whilst Rogers swept superbly for Wanderers.
The key moment of the half saw Wanderers with a golden opportunity to equalise but, with only the goalkeeper to beat, Freeman made a brave save to keep his side in front. Man-of-the-match: Mike Roskams.
BEWDLEY TOWN U16s 1, MALVERN TOWN U16s 1 (aet). Malvern won 7-6 on penalties.
A BATTLING, hard-fought County Cup quarter-final went the full distance on a heavy pitch.
Bewdley's defence was immediately called into action, denying Malvern a goal in the first minute. Dan Harris, in goal for Malvern, pulled of a superb save on nine minutes and Malvern pressurised with shots from Josh Brentnall and Ricky Buckland.
The second-half saw Malvern again on the attack, with Ryan Mansbridge making a fine run on seven minutes, only to have his shot saved.
Two minutes later, Malvern took the lead when James Lush fired home from a throw-in.
Malvern kept the pressure up and Ryan Mansbridge and Joe Blain both shot over but Bewdley produced a super save from Harris on 18 minutes and scraped the cross-bar on 31 minutes. Unfortunately, the pressure told and Bewdley equalised on 34 minutes.
The first-half of extra-time saw Bewdley pressurising, with Harris pulling off three fine saves. In the last minute, John Griffiths cleared off the line.
The second period saw Malvern digging deep and the score remained 1-1. It took nine penalty kicks from each team to decide the result. It was Malvern who finished victorious, scoring six to Bewdley's five for a semi-final place.

U15s Newtown Sports Colts 0, Bredon Colts 2
Two soft goals gave Bredon victory over a lacklustre Colts on Sunday.
On a heavy pitch, Colts started brightly and did their best to get the ball wide. Jaye, Caffull, White, Newell and Edwards found it heavy going but battled well.
Both Buckle and Allison had penalty appeals turned down, before a fine save from the Bredon keeper thwarted the latter.
Despite having most possession, Colts could not turn it in to goals.
In the second-half, Roskams, Scullion and Morse came under increasing pressure and midway through, Colts conceded two quick, soft goals.
Firstly, a Bredon striker turned unchallenged in the box to force the ball past Johnson, then the Colts failed to clear a free-kick, which again was tamely forced over the line.
Colts battled back, with Elmes nearly sending Allison free on goal. There were several clear scoring opportunities not converted and a penalty shout turned down.
Oldbury Park Tigers 1, Malvern Wanderers Colts U-11s 5
COLTS recorded their best win of the season after an excellent match.
With play going end-to-end, all the players gave their best, with Stan Mason in particular putting in a captain's performance, feeding the ball forward to very good effect.
In the first-half, Reece King scored a good goal, set up by a cross from Nathan Bass. The Tigers had a couple of decent breaks, with keeper Pete Sheppard making a good save.
For the second-half, striker Joel Wright and defender Max Howie came on and the team took the game to the Tigers. Bass scored following a Stan Mason shot but Tigers managed to get one back.
However, Joel scored twice, one an excellent left-footed hit from outside the penalty area, and Reece completed the convincing win with a fifth goal. There could have been more, with Nathan Bass unlucky, but the Tigers' goalkeeper worked hard, saving many shots on target.
Welland U-9s 1, Ombersley Colts 0
One goal was enough in this keenly contested West Mercian Junior Football League encounter.
Welland goalkeeper Sean Gleason made some excellent saves, with some superb defensive tackles by Todd Mathews.
An injury early in the second-half to Nathan Hughes forced Welland to make changes but Adam Saunston and Ollie Price began to become more dominant in midfield.
The Welland goal came when a pass from Saunston found Price, who went on a run and beat the Ombersley goalkeeper with a fine left-footed shot.
After a good all-round team performance, Welland deserved their victory in the face of a fine game from Ombersley Colts.
