VITAL funds were donated to a Herefordshire charity from the Worcester St Peter's branch of Tesco.
The supermarket's charity trust gave £1,500 to HOPE for children and their families.
The charity, based in Bromyard, seeks to provide care, support and education for local children and their families.
Holistic Opportunities for Play and Education (HOPE) was initially set up as a meeting place. It now offers a playgroup, adult training and a holiday play scheme. The charity works closely with professionals in order to provide holistic care for families and covers Bromyard and a six mile radius.
The cheque was presented to the charity by Andy Sanderson, the manager of Tesco in St Peter's.
Tesco Charity Trust distributes some £360,000 each year to charities in communities where it has stores. Awards go to charities that benefit the welfare and education of children and elderly people.
