AT 4pm on the afternoon of Sunday, January 22, myself, my husband and a neighbour heard a commotion in the upper section of Rose Bank Gardens.
The next day, while walking my dog, I was horrified to find empty bottles (many broken), plus empty cans of lager that had been left strewn all over the place. The area was an absolute mess, with carrier bags, empty packaging etc.
More worryingly, branches had also been broken from trees and used to build a fire under overhanging trees.
To the council's credit, a few days later it was all cleared up. Disturbances such as this have been happening, on-and-off, over the last few years.
I think it is about time Malvern Hills District Council provided someone to patrol Rose Bank Gardens at weekends, in the afternoon and early evenings.
If council funds would not allow this, one possible solution would be to thin out the trees in the upper Rose Bank Gardens, so the gardens can be overlooked from Foley Terrace. I believe this would stop groups congregating there, if they knew they could be seen.
Those visiting the hills, via the gardens, last weekend, must have thought Malvern was more like an inner city than the picturesque town they were expecting.
