SIR - Our wildlife is disappearing. I have noticed that there are not so many birds are around at the moment.
Could it be that hedgerows get trimmed at the wrong time of the year, during the months of March and April when at this time the birds would be starting with their nests? Also lots of trees get chopped down. It is all very well stating trees are planted as replacements, but they take several years to grow.
Another thing I feel strongly about is Bonfire Night. When they light up fires surely this must affect them, as do fireworks all year round. There is no consideration for our wildlife - it seems that many are out to destroy nature.
