ANGRY residents of Malvern Link were venting their spleen at the county council in the Gazette 25 years ago.
People living in Hampden Road were annoyed by a sign that encouraged shoppers to park in the already-congested cul-de-sac.
"With barely enough room for the residents to park their cars, an idiotic council sign invites traffic of all kinds to come and park in the road," said a residents' spokesman.
"Parking in both sides of the road is permitted, which leaves only the centre of the road for use."
He said there was increasing danger to children and on several occasions, ambulances were forced to load patients in while parked in the middle of the road.
"Cars parked in front of residents' drives, preventing them either leaving or entering their premises, is already common practice. The police are going to have their work cut out dealing with cases of unnecessary obstruction."
