Friday last was looked forward to by the local railway employees with great interest, for on that day it was arranged that they should have their annual dinner at the Imperial Hotel. About 60 assembled to attack the delicacies provided. The presence on the walls of Colonel Berkeley's splendid collection of trophies of the battlefield and the chase added to the interest of the occasion. Dr Gully presided and Mr T Haines was in the vice-chair. Malvern News, February 3, 1906.
Concerning the proposed motor service between Ledbury and Ross, Mr Weston stated that the Ross Urban Council had held a meeting and appointed delegates to arrange a conference. No doubt the people of Ross were waiting to be informed of the date fixed. Mr Weston said he was prepared to go to Ross, if the other representatives were agreeable. The best day, perhaps, would be early closing day in Ledbury. Ledbury Free Press, February 6, 1906.

An increase last year in the number of persons convicted for drunkenness in the Malvern Petty Sessional Division was reported by police superintendent E T Jackson at the licensing sessions at Malvern on Wednesday. In his annual report, Supt Jackson told the justices that nine people, four of them residents, were convicted, an increase of five compared with the previous year. Two persons were convicted of driving motor vehicles while under the influence of drink. Malvern Gazette, February 3, 1956.
With snow and ice blocking nearly every road out of town, Ledbury this week has experienced one of the most severe cold spells for many years. Chances Pitch, black spot number one in the district, has been well gritted, but like many other places, remains treacherous. Many pipes are frozen in town. Ledbury Reporter, February 3, 1956.

One council official who can take financial cutbacks sitting down is Malvern Hills chief executive Mr Len Martin. While other council staff are hoping to spend £6,050 on renewing office furniture, Mr Martin is very happy with his lot. "My chair dates from 1961, it's very comfortable and I certainly don't need the new one," he said. Malvern Gazette, February 5, 1981.
The formal adoption by the town of Ledbury of the newest ship to be commissioned by the Royal Navy will take place in March. Captain and crew of HMS Ledbury are to be invited to dinner by Ledbury Town Council and the private celebration will be followed by a civic service and reception. Ledbury Reporter, February 5, 1981.
