Old Silhillians II, Badsey Ladies 1
BADSEY secured a share of the points last Saturday but they should really have taken all three!
Once again, they started slowly and the home side's unusual attacking formation initially confused the defence.
It wasn't until midway through the first half that the visitors began to get their game together and string some good passes together.
They then proceeded to dominate the rest of the first period with some fast paced attacking moves initiated by Lynne Ellarby, Angela Heath, Zoe Hodgkins and Sarah Turner, supported from midfield by player of the match Karen Moore.
Only excellent goalkeeping from the home custodian denied Badsey the half-time lead.
The second half continued in much the same vein and Sils took the lead from a short corner.
A determined Badsey side redoubled their efforts and were rewarded when Hodgkins equalised with a short corner shot that also needed a deflection to find its way into goal.
Badsey, sponsored by Amatics, continue their league programme on Saturday against Stourport, pushback 10.25am at Evesham HS.
