A TRUST set up in the name of an Evesham teenager who died from leukaemia has raised enough money to buy a vital piece of equipment to provide blood transfusions for patients at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
Tracy Sollis died in 1993, a month before her 16th birthday. Her mum Sue, who now lives in Honeybourne, near Evesham, founded the Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust which has raised more then £100,000 to help others with leukaemia and blood-related disorders across the country.
The intravenous pump bought for the Royal cost £3,000 and was presented to matron Glenis Adams in the haematology department.
Mrs Sollis said: "The hospital has an ever-increasing number of patients with leukaemia and other blood-related disorders referred for treatment.
"This equipment will provide vital transfusions.
"I am more than aware of the demands on our hospitals for those needing urgent medical care and we are more than pleased to do whatever we can to help."
Ms Adams said: "The pump will assist patients' treatment in the clinical haematology unit and staff and patients are very grateful."
