ALVECHURCH manager Shaun Cunnington is hoping that a week's rest will have done his team the power of good.
The Lye Meadow side had a break from their relegation battle on Saturday but now face a tough double-header with Boldmere St Michaels and Loughborough Dynamo lined up in the space of four days.
And Cunnington is expecting some good news ahead of this weekend's match.
"We have been struggling with a number of injuries so I'm hoping that some of them will be fit again to face Boldmere," he explained.
"We have not got a big enough squad to compete at this level and when you have four or five players out then you are down to the bare bones.
"We have been struggling to field our strongest side."
Striker Wayne Brown and experienced duo Jamie McWilliams and Lee Millard are among those set to make a comeback although Craig Hall and Simon Redhead may remain on the sidelines.
"Promotion is out of the question now but we still have a relegation battle to fight," Cunnington added.
"I admit we have to be more consistent but we have been unable to field the same side for two or three weeks running."
Youngsters Adrian Parkes and Lee Chilton have impressed since making their Church debuts and the manager admits he is looking to bring in more new players.
"There is no quick fix for the situation but still want to bring in extra quality players as we build a side for next season."
Church take on Boldmere on Saturday (ko 3pm) and Loughborough on Tuesday (ko 7.45pm).
