KEVIN Daley bagged a late goal to ensure Villa booked their place in the final of the Worcestershire Junior Cup on Saturday.CUP FINAL BECKONS: A Fairfield Villa player goes to ground in the Worcestershire Junior Cup.
Daley's 80th minute strike made sure Villa will take on Archdale 73 in the final at Worcester City.
Joint manager Paul Oakes was pleased with victory, but was unhappy with the style in which his side had played.
He said: "We never really got going at all against Chaddesley.
"We weren't in any danger but didn't play anything like we are capable of.
"Kevin's goal was out of place because it was so special."
Villa lacked the cutting edge to score against their Worcestershire rivals, forcing Oakes and his managerial partner Lee Shaw to make substitutions near the end.
Chaddesley had a player sent off for violent conduct near the end and Villa pressed home the advantage when Daley smashed home a volley past the goalkeeper.
Oakes said: "It was a shame that we didn't play better as there were a few people who had came down to watch us.
"Word's getting around that we are playing some good stuff.
I'm delighted to make the final though as it gives us something to look forward to."
l New signing Craig Cosgrove may make a debut for Villa against Lougborough in the Midland Combination Division One on Saturday, February 4 (2.45pm kick off).
Cosgrave, who has played for Unibond League side Guiseley, has just moved to the Midlands and is expected to go straight into the squad.
