SUNDAY saw Evesham's Under-9s entertain Bromyard eager to reverse their defeat from the first game of the season.
The hosts started slowly and struggled to compete with a far more dominant outfit in the loose.
Despite some solid defending the pressure took its toll with Evesham conceding two tries in swift succession.
A half-time pep talk resulted in an Evesham second half performance to be proud of.
Now on equal terms in the loose, forwards Ben and Kieran Jones and Kieran Sherwood had Bromyard going backwards allowing their backs to use the possession they had been starved of in the first half.
It was now Bromyard who were having to defend as Eve-sham were growing in ascendancy and looking the more likely to score.
The score finally arrived following a blindside move with half-backs James Thomas and Josh Perry linking with the forwards to provide second phase ball that allowed Nathan Tomcotowitcz and Alex Hillier to turn Bromyard once again.
The forwards were in immediate support to drive on resulting in Ben Jones going over for a well-deserved try.
Further pressure from Robert Smith and player of the match Ben Herborn had Bromyard contained in their own half for the game's final moments but unfortunately a levelling score wasn't forthcoming.
Marcus Harris, Will Farrell, Finlay Kyte and player of the match George Francis scored tries for the Under-7s who defeated Bromyard 6-4 before the same two sides shared ten tries in the second meeting.
The Under-8s, meanwhile, lost both games against the Herefordshire side, going down 6-5 in the first and 5-2 in the second.
