LOVE will definitely be in the air this Valentine's Day for a Bromsgrove couple who have entered a contest to win a dream wedding.
Michael and Lorraine Wilkes, from Harwood Park, have been shortlisted in 100.7 Heart fm's wedding competition to renew their vows.
'The Perfect Wedding' has attracted over 3,500 entries from couples all over the Midlands and now the station has reduced them to just eleven couples.
The competition gave those in love, already engaged or renewing their vows, a chance to win a dream wedding.
Michael, aged 42, a self-employed engineer, and Lorraine, 41 a housewife, will be celebrating their 25th year together this year. When they got married 11 years ago, money was very tight for the couple so they had to make do with a registry office on Valentine's Day. As it was mid-week, not many of their family and friends could make it and they didn't have a wedding reception.
If Michael and Lorraine are successful, their wedding will include a bride's dress made by a top designer to the stars and the wedding and reception will be held at the luxurious Hyatt Regency Birmingham. The winners will enjoy a honeymoon to Dubai with Emirates, a celebrity wedding planner and wedding rings which are specially designed and hand-made.
Exclusively, Anthony Costa from pop band Blue will be performing on the evening.
Michael said: "We are shocked and amazed that we have got this far. Lorraine and I are soulmates and we are happy now as ever in our 25 years together.
"It is our dream to renew our vows with our two beautiful daughters with our family and friends there to share it with us.
"It would mean the world to Lorraine to finally have the fairytale wedding that she deserves," he added.
Next Monday the 11 couples will be reduced to three, when Heart fm listeners will decide who deserves The Perfect Wedding by voting for their favourite couple.
