WORK on Alcester's Scouts and Guides headquarters is progressing quickly - despite £40,000 still needed to complete the project.
The shell of the building has recently been finished, along with the floors, ceilings and electrical wiring - but much still needs to be done.
Supporters of the project had the chance to see the building for themselves at an event last week and were shown the improvements made over the past few months.
Currently, about £30,000 is needed to finish fitting out the building and a further £13,000 is needed to complete external work.
Committee chairman Jeremy Howell said: "The progress made since the Lottery Commission declined to fund the project just under a year ago is astonishing.
"It's a tribute to a very talented committee and the generosity of local businesses, charities, the people of Alcester and the county and district councils, together with Alcester Town Council and Kinwarton Parish Council.
"I'm optimistic that more support will be forthcoming now people can see what we have achieved and that the young people of Alcester will be able to use the new facilities by the summer," he added.
