SIR - Your recent story about animal abuse was so upsetting - yet more incidents of sheer neglect and abuse to animals. Why, if you don't want, or can't look after an animal, have it in the first place?
There should be far stricter laws in place for keeping dogs and even greater sentences for anyone who is caught abusing animals. I only hope that the poor little creature will regain full health and find loving kindness in a safe new home. My concern is that whoever was responsible will probably not be brought to justice. I'd like to see him or her endure the same dumping and being left for dead! I hope it lives on their conscience forever.
MEGGY JAMES,
Worcester.
