DROITWICH'S John Bickerton finished down the field in the Qatar Masters in Doha after a disappointing final round of 78 left him tied for 52nd place.
The Worcestershire professional had promised more after firing a four-under-par 68 in his third round.
Unfortunately he struggled throughout yesterday and finished his second European Tour event of the year with prize money of just over £4,600 as consolation.
Swede Henrik Stenson won the tournament by three strokes to take a third tour title back to his Sharjah home. His win brought him £188,000 and a step closer to realising his key ambition of the season making his first Ryder Cup, an aim he is rapidly closing in on.
England's Paul Broadhurst finished second after shooting a two-under-par 70 but he had to contend with Stenson's 68, the joint-best score of the day.
The 40-year-old said: "I didn't play that well, really, I just got it round.
"The best player on the day won. I was just trying to hang in there as long as I possibly could."
