With the New Year up and running, Worcester and Worcestershire MPs have set out their aspirations for their constituents in 2006.

Worcester MP Mike Foster's personal ambition for 2006 is to get Christopher Whitehead's re-building plans approved.

Securing a successful outcome to the long-running saga has been placed on the top of the Worcester MP's list of priorities for the year.

He also wants to see public transport improved following his successful Westminster campaign to ensure free bus travel for all pensioners.

His mid-Worcestershire colleague, Tory MP Peter Luff, has put defending Evesham Community Hospital from cutbacks at the top of his agenda.

There are fears that the hospital could still be in trouble due to continuing financial problems in the NHS.

He will also be fighting for fairer funding for Worcestershire and shares Mr Foster's concern for transport.

West Worcestershire MP Sir Michael Spicer also puts hospitals at the top of his agenda, with concerns for new community hospitals in Malvern and Pershore and restoring confidence in Worcestershire Royal.
