A STRING of Santas who spent Christmas working in a grotto to raise cash for bereaved children have handed over more than £2,000.
Members of the Ark and Mark Masonic Lodge donned santa suits and worked a rota system to ensure all visitors to St Peter's Garden Centre could put a Christmas wish to Father Christmas. The masons, along with the help of Tony Blake from the centre, managed to raise £2,500 for Worcester charity Noah's Ark.
Mary Irish, from the College Precincts charity, said: "This is a huge boost. The garden centre and the santas have helped us so much with their selflessness.
"This is the second year we have experienced their generosity and the funds have doubled this year as a result of their generosity."
