THE first concert in the Music at Bosbury 2006 series is tonight (Friday) at 7.30pm at Holy Trinity Church.

Happy Birthday Wolfgang is an informal celebration of Mozart's 250th birthday with performances by the Midsummer String Quartet, Susan Hughes (soprano), Esther Kay (flute), Paul James (piano/organ) and Stefan Scott (alto).

Tickets are £6, children £3, family £15 to include a drink and nibbles. For details, contact Esther Kay on (01531) 670634.

The popular Bosbury House bluebell walk is to be repeated this year on Sunday, April 30. Afternoon tea in the garden plus a variety of stalls. A village day not to be missed!

Arrangements for the first Bosbury Cider and Blossom Festival are now well underway. Please note the date now - Saturday, May 13, 11am-8pm.

The varied programme includes blossom orchard walks, may-pole dancing, food, drink, barbecue, skittles competition and - calling all local cooks - an apple and cider cake competition. Could you help with the cider-making history display of local memorabilia and photographs? Last year, so many of you provided fascinating memories and artefacts for our Bosbury, the War Years exhibition, do any of you have similar information on our apple orchard heritage?

If you can help, please contact James Boyce on 640218, Patrick Whitehead on 640678 or Frank Seabright on 640252.

This Sunday, the hop churches hold a group service of choral evensong at 3.30pm at Stretton Grandison.

You are warmly welcome to the service, led by the Bosbury church choir. Please note there is no service at Bosbury.

The parish hall committee have had several applications from people interested in taking over the village shop and post office and hope these facilities will be restored in the near future!
