BRIT-poppers The Kaiser Chiefs look set to continue their meteoric rise in the music world after snatching a record six nominations for the prestigious NME Awards.
The Leeds-based band will be vying for five awards - Best British Band, Best Live Band, Best Album, Best Track and Best Video - alongside veteran indie rockers Oasis.
The Kaiser Chiefs started out recording in drummer Nick Hodgson's bedroom in 2003 and are the only act to receive six nominations in the 50-year history of the awards.
Their sixth NME nomination is for Best Music DVD. The winners will be revealed on Thursday, February 23.
