IN the first year of the Pete Harrold competition it seems very appropriate that his former team Crackpots E should reach the final.

They won their group with a 100 per cent record. Paul Coleman led the way with eight wins from eight and was well backed-up by Dave Steen who won six and James Palmer who won three of his six games. Travellers were the only team to come close to beating them, but their narrow 4-3 defeat meant they had to settle for second place in the group.

The other finalists will be Manor Park Pumas who have clinched Group B with a match to spare. They dropped only one game in their first two matches. Jon Dyke and Dave Hallam have both won all four of their games whilst Nick Price has won three. YMCA Vulcans will finish second if they cn beat Uckinghall.
