SIR - I do not object to using wheelie bins, but I do not seem to recall when the pilot scheme to introduce them became the standard practice.
Since their introduction, the weekly refuse collection is alternating between the recyclable and the domestic.
The city council has halved the domestic refuse collection service to the detriment of the local taxpayers.
I wonder what happened to the special vehicles the city council bought, presumably to collect the recyclable refuse bags of the original scheme.
Are these vehicles still in use, sold on to another authority or perhaps written off?
