A CHANCE to enjoy the passion and the power of one of the world's most respected men's choirs is on offer when the Welsh Mass Male Voice Choir visits the area.
The world-famous choir will be made up of 150 singers from three of Wales' most prestigious choirs.
And with decades of experience and tradition behind them, each of the choirs has toured extensively around the globe, delighting audiences throughout Europe, America and the Far East. The Rhos Orpheus choir, from the mining village of Rhosllanerchrugog, the Trelawnyd Male Voice Choir of more than 70 voices from the village of Trelawnyd, and the Traeth Male Voice Choir, which hails from the Isle of Anglesey, have all united for the special series of concerts.
The programme is full of favourites including popular choruses from the world of opera such as Speed Your Journey (Nabucco-Verdi), Soldiers' Chorus (Faust-Gounod) and the Bandits' Chorus (Ernani-Verdi).
No Welsh Mass Male Voice Choir would be complete without several Welsh items and Myfanwy, Gwahoddiad and Ar Hyd Y Nos will all be performed.
The programme also includes You'll Never Walk Alone, I'se Weary of Waiting, The Creation, and many more popular numbers.
The Welsh National Opera's tenor, Dewi Wyn and baritone, Owen Webb, will also perform solos and duets and two of Wales' finest instrumentalists, pianist Annette Bryn Parri and harpist Dylan Cernyw will join them.
The Welsh Mass Male Voice Choir will perform at the Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham on Sunday, February 12, from 7.30pm.
Tickets are £15 to £20 and are available by calling 0870 6077544.
