I UNDERSTAND Arrow Valley Countryside Centre may be closed.
I would have thought in this day and age, when the environment concerns us all, the services the centre has to offer are vitally important, particularly to our young children.
I do not live in Redditch but my grandchildren do and I take them for walks and finish up with a snack in the centre.
The eldest child has taken part in holiday activities and I have earmarked some events for myself.
Where the Government fails to take any real action with regard to our environment, the events the centre offer seem to touch on these very issues such as the "Going Green" on May 18, 2006.
So, if the centre closes, we shall lose:
Valuable lessons for children.
Family-based activities.
Adult events.
A sociable place to meet.
Catering facilities.
Toilet facilities.
The closure of the centre will be a very sad loss to residents of Redditch and to those of us living further afield.
