MALVERN TOWN LADIES FC 0,

REDDITCH VC LADIES FC 1

MALVERN Town Ladies FC entertained an in-form Redditch side in a Kidderminster League match at the Langland Stadium on Sunday.

Both teams started brightly, with a fierce tempo to the game. Malvern pressed, closed down and seemed to settle first and had the ball in the net after Dom Boulton's through ball found Stacie Doyle. She lobbed the keeper but she was given offside.

Em Hinchliffe also came close to taking the lead but her shot drifted just over the bar. Malvern were on top for the first 20 minutes but an injury to top goal scorer Emily Prosser dampened their spirits. Malvern re-grouped and battled well in midfield to try and keep the ball and at half-time it was 0-0.

Malvern came out for the second-half with the same fighting spirit and continued to press but couldn't find the back of the net. Redditch came to life with about 25 minutes to go and pushed players forward to try and break the deadlock. Malvern defended well, but another injury to right back Sam Shail made things even more difficult.

Redditch dominated in the final 15 minutes and took the lead in 78th minute when they found a way through the patched-up Malvern defence to take the points with a 1-0 win.

A heartbreaking result for Malvern, who worked tirelessly and deserved more from the game.
